There are many unique places to stay if you are visiting the Seattle area, but I can’t imagine you would enjoy anything more than a short stay at the HOTEL 1000.  It is a specialty “boutique” luxury hotel located in the heart of the downtown area.  It is a short walk down to the waterfront and piers.  Walking back up the steep hills, however, will take you somewhat longer.

The hotel has a very innovative and cutting edge appearance.  The rooms are meticulously outfitted with modern conveniences and slickly styled décor, which is a wonderful combination of intimate and warm.  The rooms are over-sized large, as are the bathrooms, which have both a large shower AND a garden-styled bathtub.   

Rooms come complete with a large screen high definition television which are easily swiveled to provide viewing from either sofa chairs or the bed. 

By far, the most significant aspect of an experience at the HOTEL 1000 is the marvelous attention of the staff.  From the time you arrive at their front door, you feel pampered, attended to, and showered with customized service intended just for YOU.   Service personnel, front desk clerks, wait staff, and others all seem to anticipate your wants and wishes.

The restaurant on premise is fairly well known among locals as a great place with great food.  The BOKA offers old world wines, which are marvelous, hand-crafter cocktails, and a wide variety of urban American food.  Weather was great, so I and my party were able to experience patio dining late in the evening, that proved to be wonderful.

The LIBRARY at HOTEL 1000 is an intimate retreat for quiet conversation or simply reading.  Coffee and tea is available.  The STUDIO is located right off the lobby and offers a European style continental breakfast.

Among the many services offered are:  private wine celler, board meeting room, touch key cards, touch screen phones, business center, free Wi-Fi throughout the building, a full service Spa, 24 hour fitness room, 24 hour in-room food service, and a virtual Golf Club.

HOTEL 1000 was just opened in 2006 and, as a luxury boutique hotel, only offers 120 rooms.  On the upper floors, however, there are 47 spacious residences.  The location derives its name from the address.  The hotel is located a 1000 First Street, easy walking distance from the waterfront, Pike Place market, or anywhere in the downtown area.  HOTEL 1000 is privately owned, but is managed by MTM Luxury Lodging,
